May 25, 2023 by My Holiday Concierge

Cosying up next to a roaring fire might not be what you first picture when you envision a classic Gold Coast experience. But during winter, we’ve got to heat up our options, just like the rest of them. A visit to any of these restaurants, which all come complete with fireplaces, should be top of your Gold Coast foodie bucket list this winter.

Fox and Hounds Country Inn

If you’re keen to embrace the winter vibes, head straight to Fox and Hounds Country Inn at Tamborine Mountain. This traditional English pub, set in the beautiful hinterland, screams winter cosiness, pouring authentic British ales and boasting interiors imported all the way from the UK. Enjoy their menu of English staples – think toad in the hole, beef and Guinness pies and Sunday roasts – as you cosy up by the fire with your friend.

Robina Pavilion, Robina

Returning this winter, ‘Fire Pits by the Lake’ is the ultimate winter date night or get-together with friends. Gather a group of up to six people and enjoy a two-hour booking by their outdoor fire pits. You need to spend a minimum of $250 (easily done with Robina Pavilions mouth-watering menu of food and drinks) but you’ll receive complimentary marshmallows and roasting sticks to get everyone into the spirit.

D’Arcy Arms, Surfers Paradise

You’ve no doubt noticed the D’Arcy Arms – it’s hard not to, what with its stone façade and Irish flag standing in stark contrast to the towering skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise. But have you ever been inside? In addition to authentic Irish beers and speciality dishes, you’ll also find a cosy fire in the open fireplace. It’s what winter dreams are made of.

St Bernards Hotel

This Tamborine Mountain favourite has stood tall for over a century, beloved by day trippers, locals and travellers from faraway places alike. The breathtaking views are paralleled only by their delicious menu of winter warmers (which are best enjoyed by the toasty fire). True to the hotel’s name, this venue is even home to two beautiful St Bernards, Cooper and Syrah.
